Description
Van Helsing's (Hugh Jackman) Stunt Crossbow from Stephen Sommers’ horror adventure film Van Helsing. Van Helsing was given his gas-powered automatic crossbow by its inventor Friar Carl (David Wenham), and used it in his battle with the brides of Dracula (Richard Roxburgh), killing the vampire Marishka (Josie Maran) after dipping its arrows in holy water. This intricately designed weapon is made from a combination of urethane and resin. A light weight version of the metal crossbow, this stunt crossbow was used during scenes in which the performer would benefit from such a weapon. Painted with detail, portions of the gun resemble actual brass, steel, wood, and other materials.
This crossbow is warped in portions, especially along the urethane limb which has curled over time. Additionally, the stock exhibits a crack and the urethane strings have disconnected. With these details in mind, this piece is in overall fair condition.
