Description
A bloody Macedonian infantrymans costume from the production of the Oliver Stone epic Alexander. Chronicling the life of the legendary king of Macedonia, Alexander (Colin Farrell) takes the throne following his fathers assassination and proceeds to bring the world to heel in military campaigns across Greece, Persia and beyond, becoming one of the most famed generals in history.pThis style of panoply was worn by the soldiers serving under Alexander from their bloody battle of Gaugamela through to their final battle at Hydaspes. The costume is composed of a tall plastic helmet with faux-horse hair plume, lace-up leather boots, a pair of leather bracers, cream-coloured cotton shorts and tunic and a set of linen and leather armour. The armour is made of carpet-like material with fastenings at the rear and leather tab detailing on the chest and skirt. The helmet is finished to appear as though it is made of worked bronze.ppFeaturing plenty of dirt and blood from its use in battle, the costume remains in very good, production-distressed condition.p
