Description
I would say Massive is a good term to describe this light. The lens alone is 15" across. The reflector inside still retains a lot of the original silver. The light socket is equipped with a mogul(220v) socket which I installed a standard screw in 110 volt removable insert so standard bulbs are accepted. The lens is embossed GE with more information along the rim.
The rule of thumb is river boat lanterns were made of galvanized tin while ocean lamps were brass , bronze or copper. One of which is this . The stand is a vintage adjustable Keuffel & Esser tripod. Somewhere I have a short free standing base I will locate as time permits me to unpack my inventory and send the prospective buyer.
There is no switch incorporated into the light so a simple power strip will do. The light is infinitely adjustable and very heavy, my estimate is 40 - 50 pounds.
The light will reach near 72" and as shown is wider and deeper than the 15" lens so the dimensions below ore close but difficult to measure exactly. Light is easily removable from the stand, thought I recommend using 2 people. Rare, early and in marvelous condition.
